Steve Goetschius was among one of the most memorable of the town officials, and certainly the longest in service. Steve was borough clerk from 1910 to 1956, when he retired he was granted the honorary title of assistant clerk. Steve was part of the Goetschius family that lived in the Hopper-Goetschius house for over 150 years.
